The following video trick tip will show you how to do backside tailslide
How to do frontside tailslide
Frontside tailslide trick involves a frontside rotation. You need this to be able to get into the tailslide, so make sure you know how to do solid frontside 180 ollies. You need to be familiar with doing slides on rails/ledges. Don’t try with this trick until you’re comfortable with doing stuff on obstacles of this nature.

Before learning this trick you should be able to ollie, backside 180 and backside 50-50.
Just start in the ollie position, but put your back foot a little more towards the heel side of your board. Approach the obstacle facing it. Ride parallel to the obstacle with some speed. Leave 20 to 30 centimetres between you and the obstacle.

A noseslide is performed by riding parallel to ledge or rail. The skateboarder then does an ollie and turns the board 90 degrees. They then land on the ledge with the nose of the board sliding on top of it.
The following trick tip will show you how to do backside noseslide on ledge
Set your back foot up like you would if you were going to do a frontside 180. Make sure it’s pretty squared on the tail.
The front foot is best placed similarly to the spot you would put it for a frontside 180. Make sure you have it just a few inches behind the front bolts at most. You really want it sort of high up on the board to help you get into this slide.

Set your back foot up similarly to how you would for a backside 180. Put it in a position that will give you the ability to properly control your board as well as to pop an ollie high enough to get onto the object you’re going to slide.

Before you learn this trick you should know how to ollie. If you can frontside 180 it will help as well. In case you’re unfamiliar with how to figure out the difference between backside and frontside, remember that you’ll be approaching the rail with your back facing it.
The following trick tip will show you how to do bs boardslide
Set both of your feet up just as you would for an ollie. You really don’t need to change anything about this foot set up.
- Find a grindable rail, push a few times and get some speed. The faster you go, the longer you will be able to slide for. Ride backside up to the rail.
- Approach rail with proper speed, at a slight angle to help you into getting onto it. Pop the tail and slide your front foot up the board executing an ollie, while slightly turning your body and board 90 degrees putting you over the rail. This trick really starts once you get on the rail. Try to land the center of your board on the rail to make balance easier.
- To land from the grind, simply turn in the direction you want to land out of. If you want to get out before the end of the object, you’ll have to do a slight pop to get off.

How to do frontside boardslide guide
A boardslide is one the most basic slides in skateboarding and is the fundamental trick for learning more advanced tricks. Before you learn how to boardslide, you should know how to ollie while moving. Considering you’re going to have to rotate a bit to get into this trick, it si better if you have a consistent and comfortable backside 180.
Majority of people will say that a frontside boardslide is harder than a backside boardslide.
The following trick tip will show you how to do frontside boardslide aka fs boardslide
The back and front foot should be set up as if you were going to be doing a backside 180 ollie.
- Find a grindable rail or flat rail. Push a few times and get some speed. Ride frontside up to the rail so that your chest and toes are facing the rail.
- Approach rail with proper speed, at a slight angle to help you into getting onto it. Once you find you are close enough to the rail, pop your ollie and begin to guide your front trucks over the rail, trying to land your board as centered on it as possible.
- As you land on rail, your board should be perpendicular to the rail. Bend your knees slightly to balance yourself during the grind. Stay balanced through out the grind. Make sure not to lean too much either way.
- When you approach the end of the rail, turn your body 90 degrees back, and take your board with you.

How to Inward Heelflip guide
The following trick tip will show you how to Inward heelflip
See video tutorial: Inward Heel Trick Tip
Email ThisBlogThis!Share to XShare to FacebookShare to Pinterest
An inward heelflip is the combination of a backside pop shove it and a heelflip. Inward heelflip is simular to hardflip. Hardflip is like an inward kickflip, so this is the mirrored version of that trick.
The following trick tip will show you how to Inward heelflip
Put your front foot like an ollie but put it up near the edge of the board. When you put your front foot on the edge, put it diagonal like how you slide when you do a heelflip. The back foot is pretty important in this trick. Set it up like you would for a regular heelflip, more towards the edge of the tail. But with this trick, you might want to put a little bit more of an angle on your foot than usual.
- Push a few times to get rolling at a comfortable speed. This trick starts with the popping of your tail. Get a solid pop, and begin the rotation of your board.
- Pop down like you would for a pop shove it but at the same time slide your foot down. This will cause it to pop-shove and you will do a flip. It’s going to feel a lot like doing a heelflip, in ways. You’re going to slide it up the deck, and flick/roll your foot out at an angle to start the boards heelflip motion. As you’re sliding your front foot up the board to do the heelflip, you’re going to have to cut it at a bit more of an angle as it approaches the nose, since you’re board is rotating in the direction you’re trying to flip.
- Stick your legs up as high as possible because it may end up hitting your legs.
- After it is done flipping stomp down on it. The catch on this trick is done primarily with your back foot. Once your feet are back on the deck, prepare for the landing. Land it.

The hardflip is a combination of a frontside pop shove it and a kickflip. However, it is a popular belief that this trick should go between your legs and look a bit inverted. Even without being inverted and going between your legs, it is still a hardflip.
The following trick tip will show you how to Hardflip.
Put your back foot comfortably in the pocket if the tail, similar to the position for frontside flips. You may move your foot around this area a bit you feel you need to do so in order to help you control the popping of this trick and your ability to jump a little higher than usual. Place your front foot in the kickflip position and a little more parallel with the heelside of your board.
- Pump a few times until you are rolling at a comfortable speed.
- Bend down and get ready. Pop as hard as you can on the tail, and begin to slide your front foot off the corner of the nose and try to keep it there, out of the way, while the board rotates. As soon as your front foot is almost off the board lift you back foot up and out of the way by moving out in the toeside (opposite of heelside, side that your toes is on) direction.
- As the board turns vertical in the air, bring your back foot around towards the front of the board to let the board move between your legs. It is extremely important that you keep every thing in timing. As soon as it is possible, put your feet back on the board and even out.
- The catching of this trick is primarily done with the front foot with the back foot soon to follow. Catch the board, land on all four wheels, and ride away.

How to 360 Flip guide
The following trick tip will show you how to 360 kickflip
See video tutorial: 360 Flip Trick Tips
Email ThisBlogThis!Share to XShare to FacebookShare to Pinterest
The 360 flip, sometimes called 3 flips, or tre flips, is a combination between a backside 360 pop shove it, with a kickflip thrown in there. Before you learn how to 360 flip, you’ll want to learn how to pop shuvit and how to kickflip, people might think you need varials, but it’s a completely different trick.
The following trick tip will show you how to 360 kickflip
Place your back foot on the upper edge of your tail with your toes hanging off. This is so you can get a good scoop. You want to place your front foot in the center of the board at a 45 degree angle, with your heel hanging off.
- Push a few times to get rolling at a comfortable speed.
- Bend your knees a little to prepare for the trick. Make sure you’re balanced. Try and keep your shoulders and upper body facing the direction your riding. If you let your shoulders dip forward too much you are going to end up chasing the board. 360 kickflips are all in the legs. If you’re scooping and kicking right, the board will spin under you.
- Pop up and scoop (pull your back foot towards you) with your back foot, sweep your foot across the ground and quickly pull it behind you, to make the board spin. At the same time, jump and flick out your front foot to get the board flipping. You don’t have to give a huge kick; a gentle flick will do. The front foot is like a guide for the board. Watch the slow motion part again and focus on his back foot. It’s moving a lot faster and doing most of the work.
- Now that you’ve got the board spinning and flipping, bring up your back foot. When the board comes around get your back foot on it.
- Make sure your feet are spread out properly. A common problem when first learning to 360 kickflip is landing with your feet together, or landing too close to the nose. When the board has spun and flipped all the way around, stomp on the bolts to catch it. Bend your knees when you land to absorb the impact.

How to do backside 360 ollie and frontside 360 ollie
The following trick tip will show you how to do frontside 360 Ollie
See video trick tips: 360 Ollie Trick Tip
You are going to need to know 180s before trying this one. You REALLY need a solid understanding on how to rotate yourself and your board, and a solid frontside or backside 180 will help you with that.
The following trick tip will show you how to do frontside 360 Ollie
Your front foot should be similar in placement as if you were going to do a frontside 180. Your back foot should be set like you would for a frontside 180, but slightly scooting it back, about inch, to help you get a little more pop.
- Give yourself a few pushes and set your feet up.
- This trick actually begins before you pop. You have to sort of wind up (a little bit more than you would normally if you were going to do a 180) your upper body to give yourself the rotation.
- Begin to unwind your upper body with a little more force than usual, snapping your ollie just as your shoulders lined up with the deck. Doing this is going to get you into the air and begin your rotation.
- Chances are you’re going to find your motion starting to come to an end at about 180-270 degrees into the rotation. In order to complete the rotation, you’re going to want to guide the board around the rest of the rotation. This will be primarily done with your front foot, while your back foot stays steady on the tail not letting the deck get away from you.
- As you guide yourself through the end of the rotation, spot your landing and anticipate for under rotation of needed. Don’t worry, it can take a while to get a full clean 360 motion. Just try to land it as straight as possible if you can.
See video trick tips: 360 Ollie Trick Tip
Positioning: Basically as a backside 180, which is about the same as an ollie. Back foot over the tail, and front foot about center or just below the front bolts.
Bend your knees down as you get ready to pop. Have your shoulders winded up lot so it’s easy to get the full 360 rotation. Pop, and as you get to about 1/4 the way, unwind your arms, and as you get to the 180, the unwinding will carry you to a 270, and if necessary, you can pivot, or revert the rest of the way. Usually when first learning these that will happen, so don’t stress over this.

Varial Heelflips are a combination of a heelflip and fronside pop shove it. They’re a lot easier to learn if you’ve been doing those two tricks for a while. The Varial Heel flip, when done correctly, looks beautiful. It is a trick that can amaze a lot of people. Not exactly easy though.
The following trick tip will show you how to Varial heelflip.
The key to this trick is to be pretty good at those heel flips and front side pop shuvits. Put your back foot like you would for a frontside pop shove it. Put your front foot like you would for a heelflip or a little more to the left if you’re goofy and right if you’re regular.
- Push a few times to get rolling at a comfortable speed. Bend down and stay centered over the board, this is very important to help you do the trick properly.
- Pop and smoothly shove your back foot forward while simultaneously start dragging your front foot forward, this will start the frontside rotation, and you will be nearing the flip. Flick a little before the nose with your front foot to start the flip while the board rotates the frontside pop shove it. Understand that this trick is about is timing, so as you do your f/s pop, shove it about halfway slide that front foot up just like a heel flip and kick out.
- Watch the board flip while putting your feet back in position to land the trick, you don’t want to land off balance and slip out.
- As you are flipping it, suck up those legs when you see the board spin correctly stomp on that board and roll away happy. The higher you jump the easier it is to catch the board up higher.

Considering this trick is combination of the backside pop shove and the kickflip, you’ll really want to have both of them down fairly comfortably before trying this specific trick.
The following trick tip will show you how to Varial kickflip.
Your back foot, place it on the tail as you would for a regular backside pop shove it. The front foot should be angled just as if you were going to be doing a regular kickflip. Also, you will want to place it just an inch or two behind the front bolts.
- Push a few times to get rolling at a comfortable speed. As you’re riding and set up as described above, you’re set to get this one started. Pop your tail and begin the rotation of the board just like you would if you were doing a backside pop shove it.
- Pull with your back foot to make the board spin 180 like if you were doing a backside pop shuvit. Kick your front foot off the corner of the nose to get the board flipping. In order to catch the nose with your kick you’ve got to kick out almost straight forward. If you try to flick out to the side the same way you do for a kickflip it won’t work because the board has already started spinning. It is similar to a kickflip motion, but a little bit different.
- The board is now in motion. Bring up your back foot and get ready to catch it. Lower your legs back down and catch this one with both your feet over the bolts. Be careful not to catch it too early, however. Make sure it’s finished spinning.
- Land and ride away.

A frontside flip is a kickflip with a frontside 180 Ollie. It is definitely a difficult to trick to learn, so don’t get too worried if you have a tough time learning how to frontside flip.
The following trick tip will show you how to frontside (fs) 180 kickflip.
Set up your front foot as you would for a kickflip, at a slightly sharper angle. Set up your back foot with your toes on the edge of the tail so you can get a good spin as you pop.
- Bend your knees and wind your shoulders as you would for a frontside 180. Pop the tail and almost instantly slide your front foot up the board and off the corner of the nose. This helps the board flip and rotate.
- Jump and spin 180 degrees with you body. At the same time, slide your front foot diagonally off the edge of the board to as you would for a kickflip. However, you’ll find that you need to kick harder.
- When the board has spun about 90 degrees, it should have flipped once. You want to catch the board at 90 degrees, and spin the rest of the way. So you’ll need some height on your kickflips and 180s to pull off this trick.
- When you see the griptape coming catch your deck with both of your feet. Land riding switch and roll away smoothly.

Keep back foot in the back pocket of the tail, with mostly toes and the ball of foot on the board.Foot isn’t really on the tip of the tail, but it isn’t totally wedged off into the side. For front foot, keep it a little behind the front bolts, and completely over the board.
Now pull your front foot forward (to the toe side of the board) and your back foot backward (to the heelside of the tail) while jumping up.You don’t have to pop, it’s more like a scraping motion.
The board should turn a 180.
When it has done a complete 180, catch the board and ride on.

Kickflip was invented by Rodney Mullen and were called Magic Flips at first. The kickflip is considered the most difficult, basic trick. It combines the ollie with the skateboard doing a barrel roll, where it just rotates on an axis that goes across length ways. It rotates counter clockwise when looking from behind if you’re goofy, and clockwise if you’re regular. Once the kickflip is learned, a lot more difficult tricks that combine the kickflip with other rotations become possible to learn.

- Push a few times to get rolling at a comfortable speed.
- Bend your knees. Push down as hard as you can on your back foot so that your tail hits the ground. It should make a clean popping sound. Slide your front foot to the nose, just like an ollie.
- When you reached the nose of your board, flick your ankle of the board, it’s all about your ankle. Then this is where the 45 angled foot comes in handy, need to FLICK the board with your foot and not your whole leg. This is where people mess up. Do not use whole leg. Just with a little power with your ankle, flick your foot out to spin it.
- Wait untill your board flips the full kickflip, if it flips to slow, flick your ankle harder and if it flips to fast, flick your ankle with more control. Now, as the board flipped a full kickflip, catch it, and land.

The heelflip is one of the more basic flip tricks. It should probably be learned before all other flip tricks except for the kickflip, which could be learned before or after the heelflip. Your skateboard flips away from you as you jump. It spins in the opposite direction as a kickflip. Many feel that learning how to heelflip is much easier than learning how to kickflip, but learning how to heelflip also takes some time.
The following trick tip will show you how to Heelflip.
The back foot should be place in the back corner of your tail. Right around that pocket where there’s that dip in the wood. Having your foot here will make the board slightly tilted in the opposite direction of a heelflip upon popping the tail. Your front foot is best fit an inch or two behind the front bolts. It should be pretty leveled with your heel lining up with the back edge of your skateboard deck.
- Push a few times to get rolling at a comfortable speed.
- Bend your knees. Push down as hard as you can on your back foot so that you tail hits the ground. Kick your front foot down and out to the side using your heel and outer toe. Try hitting a corner of the nose to make the board flip easier.
- Keep your shoulders and legs parallel with the direction you are going. It will make the landing easier. Once you’ve got the board spinning, make sure you get both your front and back foot out of it’s way by sucking them up to your body a bit. Wait for it to finish flipping and catch it over bolts.
- When the flip is completed, catch it in the air. Try to get both your feet on it and land the trick. Bend your knees for the impact.

The nollie is actually an ollie on the nose of your board (nose ollie, nollie).
To do a nollie put your feet like you are doing an ollie. Instead of puttig your feet on the tail of the board put them on the nose. Your front foot is on the nose of your board, your back foot should be somewhere in front of your back bolts.
And than just pop your board.
... and slide your back foot backwards.
Good job u just did a nollie. Hint: look backwards in the beginning, and don't go too fast when practising this trick! It might feel funny in the beginning, but once you get used to it, it feels great!

Invented in the late 1970s by Alan “Ollie” Gelfand, the ollie has become a skateboarding fundamental, the basis for many other more complicated tricks. In its simplest form, the ollie is a jumping technique that allows you to hop over obstacles and gaps.
The following trick tip will show you how to Ollie. Reading this trick tip is just the first step to learn the Ollie, but know that you’ll need lots of practise to land it.

The ollie is an absolute essential trick, it is “introduction” to skateboarding tricks.
The ollie is oftentimes the first real trick you’re going to learn concerning skateboarding. But before you start trying to do this, you need to know how to atleast roll around and stay balanced on your board. Practise ollie a lot untill you can pull it off real good! Whitout the ollie, you’ll be a lousy skater forever!
Positioning your feets for ollie:
The back foot should be square on your tail of the deck. Make sure it’s positioned to be able to offer a good pop as well as maintaining balance.
The back foot should be square on your tail of the deck. Make sure it’s positioned to be able to offer a good pop as well as maintaining balance.
The front foot will be best placed just a few inches behind the front bolts. Make it level with the board. You will likely want to try moving it around a little bit depending on your personal preference
Get yourself rolling slowly and position your feet for this one.
- Quikly push the end of the tail with your back foot (= pop). Make sure your tail doesn’t touch the ground.
- As you’re performing step one, bend your foot and drag the side of your foot up the deck towards the tail. If you combine these two motions properly, the draging motion will be lifting you off of the ground with the deck still intact to your feet. While pushing the tail, jump up real high. You board should come up with you.
- When you reach the highest point, try to level out your board so it’s horizontal. To do so, slide your front foot to the nose of the board. Make sure to stay above the board. The leveling out will come more naturally with practice, so don’t worry too much if you’re having a hard time with it at first.
- Now just slide your front foot back and stay on it untill you’re back on the ground. When you land, bend your knees to absorb the inpact of the trick.
